Social Soupers had the exclusive opportunity to launch ABSOLUT ELYX – a handcrafted, super premium vodka. Social Soupers were invited to attend an exclusive tasting session to learn about the history and making of ELYX from the ABSOLUT team and participate in blind tastings against other popular vodkas. Each Social Souper in the project was then given a pack containing either a bottle of ABSOLUT ELYX to re-create their own tasting occasion, or a gift card to shout their friends to a round of ELYX cocktails. Sharing photos of their occasions on Instagram and Twitter and posting feedback on ABSOLUT’s Facebook timeline, Social Soupers mobilised their networks to continue the conversation, both online and offline.

Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash
Kids’ hands are always grubby, right? So, when Dettol launched their No-Touch Hand Wash System, our Social Soup Mamas were delighted to be the first to try it! As well as testing out this new hand wash innovation at home, they got friends and family together over a cuppa or a Sunday dinner to show off the product. Social Soupers were then asked to share their ideas on how to keep kids’ hands germ-free in an online community. These Social Soupers were also the first to check out the Dettol No-Touch Hand Wash TV ad before it hit the screens, and gave their feedback on both the product and advertising.

Dr Oetker’s pizzas
Social Soupers brought authentic Italian style to their home with Dr Oetker’s new range of authentic Italian styled frozen pizzas. They were sent all the essentials needed to put on a tasty meal which included 10 Dr Oetker’s pizzas, a pizza cutter and some freezer gloves to handle the frozen pizzas. Social Soupers then gathered their family and friends together for a sit down meal to try and share the Pizza Ristorante range. They also voted on their favourite flavor, with Quattro Formaggi and Hawaii being the most popular. Bellissimo!

Lipton Ice Green Tea
Social Soupers were invited to get creative and plan their own Lipton Ice Green Tea (LIGT) party. They received a Social Soup pack containing a bottle of each of the three refreshing flavours, along with cups and sheaths so they could conduct a blind tasting with their friends or work-mates. And because every party is so much more fun with a theme, we asked them to come up with a goodie. Think decadent High Teas with a LIGT twist, fresh salad and sushi. We also threw in a bunch of tasting cards so Social Soupers could rate the flavours with their friends. Lots of great party pics were posted on LIGT’s Facebook wall!

Matrix Total Results
This project was all about lustrous locks - Social Soupers had the opportunity to put Matrix’s recently launched Total Results hair care products to a 21-day test. First up, they visited L’Oreal’s Melbourne headquarters for a professional hair assessment by a Matrix professional, to find out which Total Results product range best suited them - Moisture, Colour Care, Sleek or Amplify or Curl. Social Soupers then took home a pack full of tailored products to trial. The challenge involved using only these Matrix products and recording their feedback via a video diary along the way. Our Social Soupers’ video testimonials were then used by Matrix for research and promotions. The 10 best videos scored a Matrix prize pack.

Airwick Aqua Mist
Social Soupers sprayed a bit of summer freshness into their homes as part of the Airwick Aqua Mist project. They were sent bottles of the brand new Airwick Aqua Mist to test out around their home. Because it’s a water-based air freshener with no harsh chemicals you can spray it on fabric as well, so yes, you guessed it, we got our Social Soupers to spray it wherever they could think of! We also got their feedback on the full range and ideas for the next fragrance. Social Soupers shared the sweet love around by inviting friends over to try it out and select their favourite fragrance... which they could take home too, naturally!

Dove Beauty Bar
Our Social Soupers got the opportunity to put this ultra-mild, non-soap cleanser (with one quarter moisturising cream!) to the test. Each received a Social Soup pack containing a Dove Beauty Bar, a packet of litmus test papers and 15 sample size bars to share with their friends. First off, Social Soupers replaced their regular soap with the Dove Beauty Bar for a few weeks and observed the difference in their skin. Next, they conducted a fun Litmus test with their friends to measure the pH level in their washing powders and regular bar soaps. The results surprised everyone!

Social Soupers were involved in the launch of the Popular Penguin series. They were given an exclusive first peek at the books before they hit the shelves, and got to choose which three Popular Penguin books they wanted to receive. When the copies of their chosen three Popular Penguins arrived they got to curl up in a comfy armchair with a good book! Social Soupers were also asked to vote on their top 10 Popular Penguin books, to determine the most popular Popular Penguin. The winner was Breakfast At Tiffany’s by Truman Capote, with ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’ by Ken Kesey a close second, and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ in third.
